+1 Ride Pets to Fight Egg Forge: Shell Combinations and Chances

Last updated:

Turn collected Shells into new pets at Egg Forge. Choose materials for the rarity you want, compare the displayed chances and decide which Shells to spend or save.

Quick answer

Select at least four Shells to activate FORGE! Repeated materials count: 3 Armored Shells plus 1 Jurassic Shell are enough. Check Forge Chances before starting, because adding more materials can lower your target rarity’s chance. The combinations below include Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary outcomes, but they do not guarantee a specific pet.

Egg Forge with three Armored Shells and one Jurassic Shell selected, a green FORGE button and 99.90% Epic chance.

Open Egg Forge and Start an Attempt

  1. Press BACK at the top of the screen to return with your collected Shells. Returning stashes them and clears your carrying counter.
  2. Go to the FORGE facility in the main plaza and open Egg Forge.
  3. Choose materials from Select Shells, or press BEST for an automatic selection. Select at least four Shells in total.
  4. Read Forge Chances for your current selection and compare the chance of the rarity you want.
  5. Press the green FORGE! button. Wait through FORGING... and the pet reveal.
  6. Choose RIDE IT! on the result card if you want to switch to the new pet.

For gathering and bag management before your next attempt, see collecting and stashing Shells.

Why FORGE Is Gray: Shell Quantities and Selection Entries

With no materials selected, the menu displays +4 SHELLS and a gray FORGE button. Select at least four Shells, counting repeated copies, to activate it.

3 Armored Shells + 1 Jurassic Shell meet the requirement using only two displayed entries. Four visible entries do not mean you need four different Shell types. The Eagle combination below also uses five Shells across four types.

The 3 Armored and 1 Jurassic selection displays 3/8 and 1/8. Count the selected quantities—3 + 1—and use the green FORGE! button to confirm that you have enough. The denominator is not a reason to keep adding materials until you reach eight.

Read Rarity Chances and Adjust BEST

Forge Chances describes the rarity distribution for your current selection. A Legendary percentage is the chance of that rarity, not the chance of getting Fire Dragon, Kitsune or another specific Legendary pet. Treat the named outcomes below as successful combination examples rather than guaranteed recipes.

Both the chances and Multiplier can change when you change materials. Multiplier is a separate readout, not a success percentage: the Stegosaurus example has an x500.3% multiplier alongside 99.90% Epic and 0.10% Legendary chances. Use the rarity percentages to judge your target.

  • BEST: Automatically selects Shells and can replace materials already selected. Review both the materials and odds afterward.
  • Manual selection: Click Shells in the list to add them; click selected entries to remove them.
  • CLEAR: Empties the selection so you can start over.

Use BEST as a starting point, then adjust it if you want to save particular materials or pursue a different rarity. For the Eagle example, BEST selected Highland, Savanna and Desert; adding Wild North manually completed the combination listed below.

Common and Rare Forge Examples

All quantities below are numbers of Shells. The chance column gives the rarity odds for each example selection.

Example result Shell combination Rarity chances
Common Fluffy Sheep 1 Heavyweight + 1 Tea Party + 1 Riverbank + 1 Barnyard 75.5% Common; 24.5% Uncommon
Rare Eagle 2 Highland + 1 Savanna + 1 Desert + 1 Wild North 99.46% Rare; 0.54% Epic
Rare Lion 1 Titan + 1 Armored + 1 Jungle + 1 Savanna 84.5% Rare; 15.5% Epic

For a Rare target, the Eagle example favors Rare more strongly. The Lion example offers a larger Epic chance, so choose between them according to your target and available materials.

Rare Hippo is also an Egg Forge outcome. Compare its abilities with these pets in the pet catalog.

Epic Examples: Elephant, Stegosaurus and Triceratops

Example result Shell combination Rarity chances
Epic Elephant 3 Armored + 1 Titan 99.90% Epic; 0.10% Legendary
Epic Stegosaurus 3 Armored + 1 Jurassic 99.90% Epic; 0.10% Legendary

These two selections offer the same displayed rarity split. If your immediate goal is an Epic pet, choose according to whether you are willing to spend Titan or Jurassic alongside the three Armored Shells.

Triceratops combination

An attempt using 2 Horn Shells + 1 Titan Shell + 1 Jurassic Shell + 1 Sky Shell produced Epic Triceratops.

During material selection for that attempt, the panel reached x518.3% Multiplier, 93.9% Epic and 6.1% Legendary. Those are intermediate selection readouts, not final odds assigned to the completed five-Shell combination. Read the current panel after your last material change before starting.

Legendary Examples: Fire Dragon, Kitsune and Pegasus

Example result Shell combination Rarity chances
Legendary Fire Dragon 2 Underworld + 1 Lantern + 1 Sky 99.95% Legendary; 0.05% Mythic
Legendary Kitsune 1 Dragon + 1 Lantern + 1 Underworld + 1 Sky 99.95% Legendary; 0.05% Mythic

Both selections displayed x800.3% Multiplier. They strongly favor Legendary rarity, with a small Mythic chance.

How BEST changed the Kitsune selection

The initial selection was 1 Dragon + 1 Olympus + 1 Lantern + 1 Underworld. Pressing BEST replaced Olympus with Sky, leaving the final Kitsune example combination above. The odds stayed at 99.95% Legendary and 0.05% Mythic. For that comparison, using Sky preserved Olympus without changing the displayed rarity chances.

Getting Pegasus through Egg Forge

Legendary Pegasus can also come from Egg Forge. One successful attempt had a 7.6% Legendary chance. That percentage applies to Legendary rarity for that attempt, rather than a Pegasus-specific chance.

Choose a Combination Without Wasting Materials

More Shells can make your target rarity less likely. The Stegosaurus combination gives a useful comparison:

Selection Epic chance Other rarity chance Multiplier
3 Armored + 1 Jurassic 99.90% 0.10% Legendary x500.3%
The same selection with Desert and Savanna added 20.6% 79.4% Rare x341.1%

For an Epic target, keep the original four Shells. Adding Desert and Savanna spends more materials while shifting most of the chance to Rare. Remove those additions to restore the original selection.

  • Choose your target rarity before spending materials, then compare its percentage after each change.
  • Keep higher-tier Shells for a later attempt when your current materials already suit your immediate goal.
  • Use the Shell catalog to find materials for a combination.
  • Before selling materials you might need, weigh selling Shells against saving for forging.
  • Compare pet abilities when deciding what kind of upgrade would help your battles.
